Study Title: Human-AI Collaborative Floor Plan Design Study
Conducted by the AAIRL Research Lab, Ariel University.
1. Procedure
During this study, you will act as a designer tasked with generating a spatial layout. You will complete three distinct design tasks: a Clinic, an Office, and a Retail Store. For each scenario, you will collaborate with an AI Chatbot Assistant to determine layout positioning and produce a final architectural blueprint. The interaction duration and process will be recorded to analyze human-AI teaming. The total duration of the study, including all three tasks and surveys, is approximately 20–30 minutes.
2. Voluntary Participation & Risks
Your participation in this research is strictly voluntary. You are free to withdraw and stop participating at any time, for any reason, without penalty. You can simply close the browser window or use the "Abandon Task" button provided in the interface. There are no known physical risks. You may experience mild frustration or cognitive load depending on the AI assistant's behavior.
3. Confidentiality & Privacy
Your data will remain completely anonymous. The email address you enter on the login screen is instantaneously transformed into a randomized, unique cryptographic participant ID. Your actual email address is never stored in our database. All data is stored on a secure, encrypted server managed by the AAIRL Lab. Access to raw interaction logs is restricted to the primary research team for analysis purposes only.
4. Research Output
There are no direct benefits to you, but your participation helps improve the future of AI co-design interfaces. The findings of this study may be published in academic journals or presented at research conferences, but will only be shared in an aggregated, anonymous format.
