Study Title: Human-AI Collaborative Floor Plan Design Study
AAIRL Research Lab, Ariel University
1. Procedure
You will act as a designer tasked with generating a spatial layout. You will complete one design task — a "Couple's Retreat" residential layout — by collaborating with an AI Chatbot Assistant to determine layout positioning and produce a final architectural blueprint. The interaction duration and process will be recorded. The study takes approximately 5–10 minutes.
2. Voluntary Participation & Risks
Participation is strictly voluntary. You are free to withdraw or stop at any time without penalty. You can simply close the browser window or use the "Abandon Task" button provided in the interface. There are no known physical risks. You may experience mild frustration or cognitive load depending on the AI assistant's behavior.
3. Confidentiality & Privacy
Your data will remain confidential. The email and phone number you provide are encrypted and stored securely. They will ONLY be used to send surveys if you have not completed them. All data is stored on a secure, encrypted server managed by the AAIRL Lab.
4. Research Output
There are no direct benefits to you, but your participation helps improve AI co-design interfaces. Findings may be published in academic journals or presented at conferences, but will only be shared in an aggregated, anonymous format.
5. Contact Information
If you have any questions, you may contact the Principal Investigator, Dr. Jonathan Dortheimer, at jonathand@ariel.ac.il.
By checking below, you verify you are 18+, proficient in English, using a desktop/laptop with a stable connection, and voluntarily consent to participate.
